What is it?

Labage is developing a new web portal, called Sopedia, for life science research protocols, organized similarly to a wiki. An unique editor tool called Proved, for protocol visual editor, allows any scientist to design and edit experimental protocols using other protocols as a toolbox. The number of protocols will increase organically, with a peer-reviewed system based on usage statistics, traceability and commentaries. Proved is also a tool for acquisition and management of knowledge in life science experimental research. Using Sopedia is free but private space or "local Sopedia" for storage of proprietary protocols can be run for a fee.

Sopedia is the core engine of the Eagl electronic notebook system, allowing the execution of protocols in laboratory environment.

Labage's R&D is supported by a grant of DGTRE from Région wallonne.
